EasySNMP for FaM
EasySNMP for FaM
-
Overview
As NGN Networks rapidly evolve and diversify in vendor equipment, creation of fault libraries for monitoring customer networks needs to be operated regularly by a quick deployment process.
SNMP is one of the most common standard interfaces in the telecommunications industry. By utilizing the SNMP MIBs information; TTI Telecom supports automatic creation of the fault libraries.
EasySNMP for FaM is a wizard tool for creating fault management libraries, for SNMP-based equipment. The wizard supports a simple and rapid library implementation process. The library is based on MIB attribute selection, which automatically creates collection, transformation and alarm mapping rules. The wizard also supports automatic generation of a fault library with default definitions, according to the working methodology of the library.
EasySNMP for FaM assists in the quick deployment of new network elements by significantly reducing the start-time required for the monitoring process.
-
Benefits
- Lower operational costs of supporting new SNMP MIBs using the Wizard automatic creation tool
- Enable quicker time-to-market using the Wizard when adding new network element types, applications or technologies.
- Quickly and easily use rules for defining a library
- Standardize Library Working Methodology for all SNMP libraries.
-
Features
- Creation of a New NGN Library –the wizard creates a set of definitions wrapped as a library with minimal time and minimal user inputs. The wizard output is a set of business rules supporting a standard mapping of MIBS objects to alarms
- Wizard business rules – for customization using Mediation Studio Development Tools.
- SNMP V1 and V2 support – libraries created by the wizard support traps at different SNMP versions.
- Alarm Field Mapping support – the wizard enables an easy and user-friendly way of defining alarm field-mapping in the fault module for alarms presentation The basic rules can be created with default values or can be enriched by the user though the wizard. The additional information enriches alarms with data such as alarm description, alarm severity, alarm type and alarm probable cause.
- Friendly Wizard-like User Interface (GUI) – within the Mediation layer, the wizard is an easy to use graphical tool for creating mediation libraries for SNMP based network elements almost effortlessly.
